Rainbow Eyes: Inspired by Chanel

Months have passed since the show but I’m still obsessing over this incredible Chanel Spring Summer 2014 catwalk make-up. Decided to have a go myself. I wanted to create something which was a bit more wearable (not hard!) that I could try for a party. Quite enjoyed the nails too; a good way to while away a quiet afternoon. Mmm nail art.

I used this amazing Sephora palette

And a YSL black eyeliner. Got my eyebrows done at Benefit, Carnaby Street before embarking on this one!

The nails were a few different shades by a few different brands - experiment!

Modalu Handbags

I am fortunate enough to have a few fancy bags in my handbag arsenal; Miu Miu, Mulberry and Chanel all enjoy representation in my bag box. The one I use most, however, has a far more modest price point (around the £200 mark). It's a rugged brown number by Modalu. I have had it for a couple of years now, but while the pink satin lining of the Miu Miu is looking a bit ratty, the Modalu wonder is aging gracefully to say the least. I know you're only really supposed to wear brown or tab tassels in summer but I use it all winter too. I thought my black Mulberry shoulder bag would have seen far more action than it has this season. But I stray from the main point of this article; Modalu's new season bags! I want the floral one right now, the silver one for parties and the colour blocked one for events which require fashion authority (er, that'll be all of them then).

Clever Clogs?

So, how are we all feeling about clogs? In my past, clogs have been things that were always one size too small (my Mum's) or about ten sizes too large (my Dad's) that sat in the utility room. Worn only to travel to the garage and collect stuff from the freezer reluctantly.

I don’t think Karl Lagerfeld invented his versions with such escapades in mind; he doesn’t appear to eat, let alone know what a Cornetto is so one may suspect not. Gorgeous they are, though, I think possibly as gorgeous as a clog can get. You’ll pay the price for beauty though and these bad boys are hard to get hold of (and eye-wateringly expensive if you manage to).

Asos.com is featuring some nice clog and clog-like options at the moment; much more affordable and with the trend filtered-down just enough to make them wearable for you and me. They feature shoes by Swedish Hasbeens, one pair I like:
And Asos.com’s own version of the clog is really rather appealing too:

So, what are we afraid of? Now all we need to do is perfect the art of walking quietly in them…clip clog, clip clog, clip clog.

The Look of Luxe: Chanel

It's no secret that I love a bit of luxe and Chanel, bless Karl, never disappoints. I know it's lazy but get your hit of double C's backstage info here:

Very soon I will do a 'Get the Chanel Look on the Utmost Cheap' post - I just need to gather all my chains, camelias, baker boy caps and my single item of the real deal. I am going to prove that you don't need to be forty, rich and a scrawny size nil to glam it up to the max: Chanel style.

In the meantime, I got this dreamy Spring/Summer 10 image from the telegraph.co.uk for inspiration:
