Amy Childs is the maroon-haired glamour model in training from ITV2's unexpected smash hit, the Only Way is Essex. Meet my latest style fascination. Mistress of Vejazzling (and familiar in the fine art of Pezazzling, both techniques of gluing crystals to the groin region) and a fellow fan of animal print, it seems Amy is unfamiliar with terms such as 'smart/casual,' 'pale and interesting' or 'understated' but in a world in which Katie Price rules, this celebration of unabashed fakery works fantastically well. I just bought a plumping lip gloss, am going for a spray tan soon and am going to hunt for my Swarovski and eyelash glue tonight; it's a slippery slope that will only end in Faces...

Going (as) Gaga
I decided to go as Gaga to our party and had lots of fun picking my outfit. In the end I went with: a wig from Paks beauty store in Dalston, some glasses from Primark which I customised with cigarettes, a necklace from asos.com, a bra from Freya, a vintage leather jacket from a clothes swap, temporary tattoos from a fancy dress shop at the top of Essex Road, high waisted pants from Marks and Spencer, lace leggings from Primark and some hardcore studded boots from Carvela. Most of my party make-up (including false eyelashes) was from Mac as usual.

Bella Freud; Style Inspiration
I love knitwear designer Bella Freud's unique style. That kind of irreverent quirkiness, jumpers with catchy slogans (her own designs) and cool print combinations work for her in a way they may not for others. Visit Bella's website, http://www.bellafreud.co.uk/ or Net a Porter http://www.net-a-porter.com/Shop/Designers/Bella_Freud to attempt the look yourself. Like Sofia Coppola (another of my brunette style inspirations!) she leaves her hair and make-up well enough alone to allow the clothes to do the talking. I strive for this but simply. Cannot. Put. The. Eyeliner. Down.

Edie Sedgwick
In the spirit of all things Sixties, I decided to share my personal style obsession: Edie Sedgwick. This troubled society darling (and the first real 'It Girl') was Andy Warhol's muse and they spend time together at his Factory. Edie's style embodies all things mod and she worked a leotard and tights like no one else. I love the way she mixed massive, chunky earrings with plain outfits and how she worked headscarfs (something I am going to go and try now!). Most of all, Edie's freespirited nature shines through every photograph taken of her - something money cannot buy.
Some of the photographs are a bit disturbing (she looks quite dangerously thin), please remember that although she is undeniably a style icon, she was also hugely addicted to Speed and there is absolutely nothing glamorous about that.

2009's Style Icon: an Homage to Alexa Chung
Alexa Chung has made it to the top of Vogue’s ‘20 Most Stylish of 2009.’ With her special brand of indie tomboy eccentricity, she has featured on my fashion radar for a while now and I have long admired her ability to dress down even the most frou-frou of frocks with flat loafers and messy hair. Championing the Breton top in a way girls from the Hills can only but dream, Alexa has beaten Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and (even) Lady Gaga to the Number 1 spot.
I have cherry-picked my favourite Alexa looks from the finest Google images search. Thanks to everyone I have stolen them from, I hope they provide all of you with a little sales shopping inspiration.
Currently, I am far too full of Quality Street to even contemplate trying on new clothes but, after an imminently sober and starving January, perhaps I can begin to consider a new Alexa-inspired wardrobe.

Rock Star Style: Juliette Lewis
She sometimes appears on the 'Worst Dressed' lists but who cares? Certainly not Juliette Lewis. She likes a beret, loves a catsuit or two and isn't afraid to dress up when the occasion demands it. This star has a refreshingly human approach to style and seems to wear whatever she feels like with unflappable confidence.
