The ARK Back SkinResponse Facial

In January, I decided to invest some time and money into monthly massage. Pure ‘me time’ where I could de-stress and treat myself. After a trip to Ark salon in Putney, I have decided to switch the massage idea with a monthly back treatment instead. Their ‘Back SkinResponse Facial’ combines the best bits of a massage with a deep back cleanse. The salon itself feels luxurious and the people who work there are friendly and accommodating.

The ARK Back SkinResponse Facial combines the best of both worlds – a muscle easing massage with a reviving body scrub and ‘facial’ for the back. The deep cleansing treatment includes steam extraction and tackles dryness, congestion and breakouts. Your head and feet are not forgotten either as they are also treated to a massage while the products do their work.  This was a very pleasant bonus.

I can’t express how relaxing this treatment was. I almost fell asleep! Afterwards, my muscles felt normal again and my back felt incredibly clean and smooth. If you are not a regular salon-goer, then I would still definitely recommend the ARK Back SkinResponse Facial as a pre-holiday treatment. Combine it with a mani/pedi and some waxing before you hit the beach (it will happen, it’s the only thing I’m clinging to in this hideous weather!).  A similar treatment is also offered for the chest too – a common area for skin congestion.

ARK has a celebrity fan base which includes Dannii Minogue and Katie Melua. The salon also has its own line of skincare products. I’m a fan of their Age Repair Skin Refining Exfoliator (£28.00, 75ml) which I have been using in the shower with my new back scrubber (TKMaxx do a nice line in these, there’s a branch right opposite Ark).
