Mulberry SS10 Salon Presentation: All the Fun of the Fair

Mulberry presented their 2010 collection at a sleek salon-style presentation in London’s prestigious Claridges. The show was a glorious parade of fairground candy colours, distorted horse head and (my favourite) leopard prints.

Inspired by Sofia Copolla’s beautiful ‘Virgin Suicides’ and influenced by Tim Walker’s photography, key pieces included a gorgeous puff sleeve jacket and a neat dress with a grown-on bow at the neckline. Ladylike with a sense of fun and adolescent freshness, Mulberry’s lust-after tasselled booties and must-have bags are definite hits. Mulberry’s new accessory groups are named: Alexa, Hayden, Leah, Tamara, Drew and Beatrice.

Mulberry get extra brownie points for being brave enough to include live animals (lovely little pugs) on the catwalk – anything that can raise a smile from a roomful of weary, sore-footed fashionistas can never fail to impress.
