Dolce and Gabbana Party, Tuesday 16th September

“Dolce and Gabbana, Fendi and NaDonna” I trotted (painfully) along Sloane Street happily singing Fergie’s immortal lines. I was on my way to the opening of a new Dolce and Gabbana menswear store. The legendary fashion photographer, illustrator and art director Michael Roberts was signing books of his photographs from the latest Dolce and Gabbana menswear campaign entitled ‘The Good Shepherd’.

There were lots of very beautiful people at this party including the very gorgeous Mark Ronson. He didn’t stay long, unfortunately; perhaps because he could see three girls foaming at the mouth about a metre away from him…it wasn’t our fault though-in a place as packed as this it would have been unusual if your face wasn’t nestled in someone’s armpit. Anyway, we all had a grand old time, drinking Martini cocktails and lots of lovely champers.

I was fortunate enough to meet one of my all-time greatest heroes at this party, Hillary Alexander. She is living proof that you can work in fashion and still be a lovely, generous human being. Michael Roberts was also very charismatic, even when faced with seemingly hundreds of people wanting signed copies of his book. I got one and am happy to have it-it features many photographs of an almost impossibly hunky shepherd holding cute lambs and suchlike. “Could such a shepherd really exist?” we asked ourselves. Was it actually possible that somewhere in deepest Sicily (where the campaign was shot) a toned, tanned, straight man might be caressing a lamb wearing holey Dolce and Gabbana ‘Y’ fronts? We decided that it was highly unlikely-he would be scouted and outed in the (pardon the expression) flick of a lamb’s tail.

After getting over this depressing thought, we realised that we were perhaps a little too Martini-filled and rowdy for such a refined establishment and promptly went on to Alex Lambrecht’s night at Maddox to play with some more beautiful people and see Drew from Babyshambles DJ.

Then I went home and nearly had a coronary when I thought I saw a rat run across my bathroom floor-riches to rags, eh? More to follow, I fear…

Me and Simon Webb-he's fit isn't he? I held on to him for a bit too long but he hides his fear well.

Richard (right) but his friend's name escapes me-sorry, I've had too much champers this week!
