Free Transformation

The day after the 'night of four fashion parties' I woke up feeling and looking more than just a little worse for wear (see the picture directly below). I cautiously donned a wide-brimmed (vintage Kangol-thanks nan) tweed hat, some harem pants and (shock! Horror!) trainers before stumbling down to South Ken for the seemingly the umpteenth time that week. There was literally no way I could face a full day of shows looking as I did (like crap) so I made for the London Fashion Week exhibition tent in search of help.

First stop? Mac, of course. The super-brand has a stall for press where you can go and find out what what’s coming up looks-wise (I always find this beyond exciting) and also...you can get a free make-over from a Mac artist. While I waited I shamelessly eavesdropped in on an interview taking place beside me with Mac's Terry Barber, creative genius and basically make-up guru. I assumed my position en stool and the lovely Nicola got to work quick sharp. I relaxed, having light shimmering lavender brushed over my lids and about three juicy shades expertly applied to my dehydrated lips. Eventually I realised that the lady sitting beside was make-up legend, make-up artist for Dior, Dolce et al, Pat McGrath! After Nicola had completed my (very Jasmine Le Bon) look, Pat swivelled around and told me that I looked lovely!!!! Well now. Is that not the best start to anyone’s day? Managing to restrain myself from hugging Nicola and doing a merry little jig around the tent, I left, pronto (with a lovely bag of samples which included a gorgeous new Fuchsia shade of Cremesheen that Nicola used on me, 'Lickable').

Outside Mac’s stand, I turned the corner and landed in the welcoming arms of Toni & Guy. Far from registering shock at my ugly slicked-back barnet, people were kind (the new face probably helped!), gently easing my hungover bones into a lovely soft leather chair. It transpired that the chair was no ordinary one but one that gave you a massage. I’m not joking. Sophie, my stylist gave me a totally orgasmic head massage (seriously-you don’t know true relaxation until you get your head massaged whilst sitting in a massage chair!) and my need to vomit/drink water/cry waned considerably.

Sophie sat me down, assessed the damage and swiftly got to work. We decided to work with the ‘style’ I already had (a grown-out, lopsided mop) and turn it into something decent. Sophie totally surpassed herself, creating a gorgeous, perfectly neat bob. That girl could blowdry and the whole thing shone like freshly polished glass. I felt like a younger Anna Wintour without the fringe. Everyone said I looked lovely again. I left feeling so, shimmying my way past the Natural History Museum, harem pants catching the wind in delight. Instead of hiding from camera-wielding bloggers like me, I stopped, pouted and posed like a pro, even when it didn’t actually look like they wanted to take my picture. I stared in every reflective surface imaginable, car doors, windows, you name it. There was hair-swinging, there was joy.

The whole glorious make-over process almost gave me the energy to go out and show off Henry Holland’s party later but by the time I got home I was starting to seriously worry for my liver and general health. The need to lie down out-weighed the desire for free alcohol-interesting, eh? I stayed in for once (sleeping on my face so the bob wouldn’t get ruined).

looking bad. This is WITH foundation and concealer. I just couldn't bear to show all of the spots as well

looking much, much better (I know the eye bags are still there but I got the
haemorrhoid cream out later and that obliterated them)

Hair before Sophie's magic

Oooh, the back was really bad and wonky

Ah lovely hair after

Gwynnie, watch your back-I'm going to go blonder, grow out the rest of my fringe and steal your hair-mwah ha ha!

Watch you back ice queen

you did look stunning post mac and toni and guy. The hair is amazing, I don't think I realised quite how different it looks! The before and after pics are great!

Did the hemeroid cream work on the eyes?

Love Christina x

It's doubtful that the Finnish mobile giant knew at the time Someone informed the blitz brigade hack Panda to
go to someplace that he certainly never had the experience before.

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren't loading correctly.
I'm not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I've tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same results.
